Born in Mexico in 1980, Omar Alcalá was raised around construction sites and hand-drafted design drawings, influenced by his father’s career in the design and building industry and his mother’s craftsmanship.

Omar studied Architecture at the Universidad del Valle de México [2005–2010]. After gaining experience, he moved into consulting on residential design and construction projects.

In 2017, Omar made the pivotal decision to leave his familiar surroundings behind and move to Canggu, Bali, where his design consultancy expanded into independent project work, enriching his portfolio with international experience.

Today, he is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, he has gained local experience since 2018 working with respected Architects and design-build firms. With a rich background of 15 years in practice, he brings international perspective and practical knowledge to every project he undertakes.
